Overview

The aeration process typically consists of blowers that produce oxygen into the wastewater.  The process uses aerobic or facultative bacteria whereby these bacteria use incoming suspended solids as a food source.  These bacteria consume the solids and reduce them.  This process is extremely effective in removing biological oxygen demand (BOD) and total suspended solids (TSS) from the wastewater.

Benefits of Aeroclear™ Aeration Systems

The significant benefits of our AeroClear™ Aeration Systems include very low energy costs, significantly higher oxygen transfer rates per hour, higher dissolved oxygen (DO) levels, and superior performance.

The design requirement for our AeroClear™ system is to provide efficient and effective transfer of 100% outside/room air for positive distribution into a wastewater tank to increase the Dissolved Oxygen (DO) content in the waste water thereby improving the overall efficiency and digestion rate of solids.

Our durable and efficient AeroClear™ aeration system has been used successfully with a wide range of applications including septic system aeration and remediation, grease traps aeration, aquaculture systems, pond and lagoon aeration and any other system than can benefit from the increased oxygen levels in your waste water.

Size 2000 Series System 2250 to 3000 Gallons

Bacteria Overview:

There are essentially three types of bacteria in on-site (septic) process waste:

  • Aerobic (which require oxygen to live)
  • Obligate Anaerobic (live without oxygen)
  • Facultative (thrive under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions)

Aerobic bacteria require oxygen (aeration or oxygen rich wastewater) and are more aggressive and more efficient at waste digestion than anaerobic bacteria (which do not require air for the digestion of waste).

Facultative bacteria also require oxygen but they can get it from non-aerated water by stripping oxygen molecules from other sources which directly produce the "rotten egg odor," (hydrogen sulfide). Through aeration these hydrogen sulfide odors will be eliminated.  By reducing the loading through an efficient and effective aeration process your on-site treatment system will be cleaner thereby reducing the loading on the environment, reversing failing leach field conditions and reducing loading in the soil treatment area increasing the life of your overall on-site waste treatment system.
